About us

The Novorossiysk Branch of Pyatigorsk State University (NF PSU) has been cultivating highly skilled professionals in translation, foreign language teaching, and cultural studies for over 25 years. Our graduates play a significant role in driving the economic and social development of the city, region, and beyond.

We offer a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics with two specializations: Translation and Translatology (full-time), and Theory and Methodology of Teaching Foreign Languages, available both full-time and part-time. Our students have the unique opportunity to study six foreign languages—English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Turkish—either as their main or additional languages.

Our faculty is composed of passionate experts who uphold high academic standards and actively contribute to research both domestically and internationally. Many of our professors have been honored with prestigious awards and grants, including those from the President of the Russian Federation, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the Goethe Institute. The Branch is headed by Professor Dmitry Yurchenko.

Equipped with modern facilities—such as computer labs, a simultaneous interpretation studio, interactive whiteboards, projectors, and full access to an electronic library—we create a dynamic and resource-rich learning environment.

Our students gain hands-on experience through practical projects and translation assignments spanning various industries. Additionally, our professional retraining programs cover foreign language teaching, translation, cross-cultural communication, and speech therapy (logopedics), preparing specialists for diverse career paths.

Every year, we host regional Olympiads and competitions such as «Lingvostart» and «Innovative Potential of University Youth,» alongside our student scientific and practical conference. Our Branch consistently offers students valuable internship opportunities with leading specialized enterprises in Novorossiysk. Additionally, the university organizes various events including professional contests, festivals, and concerts to commemorate important occasions in Russia and the countries of the languages studied.

We take pride in being a hub of educational, youth, and cultural life in the city. We actively support the development of our students’ talents and initiatives. Studying here, everyone can discover their passions and unlock their personal potential.

Being a student at our Branch means more than just receiving a quality education; it’s about joining a close-knit community that respects traditions, encourages new ideas, and fosters an environment for both professional and personal growth.
